60 Day Wellness Challenge!

I would love to say that my challenge has been smooth and successful but it’s had several glitches.
Miss Lisa who is doing this program with me has gotten sick a couple times herself and had some other things going on.  I’m beginning to think it will need to be the 120 Day Wellness Challenge.  Shortly after we started my whole family got sick and after taking care of everyone I seemed to get the worst case of it, I think because I was so exhausted.  Having a few family stresses hasn’t helped matters either.  The Insanity Workout Program has been too much for my back and my body just hasn’t wanted to seem to lose weight with watching my diet. My current weight loss has only been 3 pounds

My exercise routine has been Zumba 3 to 4 days a week, the Beach Body Slim in 6 “Start It Up” 2 to 3 times per week and Yoga about 2 to 3 times per week.  My back is finally feeling like I can step up the exercise a bit.  I can tell that to create any further change in my body I have to step up the exercise level to a more intense level.

This week I’m going to start NOT eating after 5:00pm at night which is so hard for me.  With kid and adult schedules our dinner time just seems to be at 7:00pm.  I will be drinking a meal shake for breakfast and lunch with an early dinner.  Because I’m not really getting as far as quickly as I would like I’m going to do what I can to jump start my weight loss with eating/drinking this way.
I continue to utilize and love the Hungry Girl Cookbooks.  One of our favorite recipes we tried was........

  MOSTLY ROASTED VEGGIE EXPLOSION
Hungry Girl 200 under 200 Cookbook, Page 120.
We altered this recipe quite a bit.  You're supposed to roll the veggies in the eggplant BUT we just layered it to satisfy all the different likes in our home.  We also sprinkled garlic powder & Parmesan Cheese on the top of it.  I don't know how it tastes according to the recipe but this way was AMAZING!!!

I shall report back soon!  Kelly

Never used a sugar scrub before?  Have questions?

Here is all about Sugar Scrubs, if you have any more questions mail us at kelly@vitalearthtraditions.com.

What is a Sugar Scrub?  A sugar scrub is a skin exfoliant made of several natural ingredients along with sugars and/or other types of exfoliants.
Why use a sugar scrub?  Our bodies slough dead skin cells daily that accumulate on our skin.  Dead skin cells can clog pores causing a prime situation/climate for acne breakouts, increasing skin acidity which can encourage wrinkle formation on the skin and face.  A Sugar Scrub exfoliant can help remove the dead skin cells that can clog your pores and keep your skin from looking its best.
Benefits of an Exfoliant!
-Cleans the oils off your skin
-Unclogs pores
-Can reduce wrinkle formation
-Can reduce acne and blackhead formation
-Leaves your skin baby smooth & kissably soft!

How to use a Sugar Scrub?
1)Wet face or body before using an exfoliant.
2)Scoop small amount out of jar, replace lid.
3)Gently massage scrub onto skin.
4)Rinse or wash scrub off with warm water.
5)Gently pat your lovely skin dry with a towel.
6)Keep your Scrubs at room temperature or in a refrigerator for storage.
Tip – Many like to shave directly after using a Sugar Scrub!
Your skin will feel so moisturized and soft after using a Sugar Scrub that you will feel like you already applied a moisturizer.  You can even skip a step in applying a moisturizer after using a scrub.
Cautions –
1)It is recommended that you only exfoliate 2 – 3 times a week with a day in between using.
2)Excessive use of exfoliants/scrubs can cause skin irritation.
3)Always test for skin sensitivities before using any natural product.
4)If you experience skin irritation after using an exfoliant consult your dermatologist.
