BITCH REDEFINED

Bitch ~ Original definition: "Female Canine". Over the centuries we have transformed the term to carry a strong, negative connotation. We use it to judge, disrespect, and insult; to hide our own fears and flaws; and to ridicule a person or even a situation. Reverting back to the root of the word bitch, a female dog holds anything but negative meaning. A female dog is most often a loyal and devoted companion, a protective friend, and a caring, nurturing mother. And despite our character flaws, those bitches still look up to us, protect us and provide us with unconditional love and unsurpassed companionship!

This is a prime example of how we can change one simple word to bring hurt, harm, and hate into our daily lives. We can so easily become complacent and step off that path of compassion we all truly want to walk, and forget to treat people with the same compassion we ultimately want to receive ourselves.

As women, we survive by utilizing all of our characteristics and instincts to create a hopefully solid foundation. We use this foundation to accomplish the beautiful things in our lives and in the lives connected to us, to best care for our families and build for our futures, and to leave a legacy of love and hope.

Since our society’s use of the word bitch is so grossly inaccurate - it is imperative that we redefine the word “Bitch” to describe and relate it to all of its deserved glory and beauty!
